Spartans run into a buzz-saw against DuQuoin and lose 17-7.

Spartans manage 7 runs on 7 hits but not near enough offense to hold off the Indians. Rube lead the way going 2-3 with his first bomb of the year. Witge was also 2-3 on the day. Smitty, Bundy and Skid had the oter hit for the Spartans.

Skiddy had a rough opening inning on the mound giving up the first back-to-back-to-back homeruns in school history. MMMMMMMMMAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNN!
Witge came in relief to hold DuQuoin to 12 runs.

DuQuoin was probably the best hitting team the Spartans have seen this year. They must regroup as they travel to Wayne City in a huge "can't lose" conference game tomorrow at 4:30.

Record: 9-11
        5-2
