Spartans get out of a couple jams, leave 11 men on base, and wrap out 13 hits to a 10-2 win over Grayville. Skiddy lead the way at the dish going 3-5 with 3 RBI. Caleb "Rube" Crocker woke up after the long bus ride to go 3-4 with an RBI. Petey missed #3 by inches going 1-4 off the wall. Witgey had a nice day going 2-5 with a pair of Ribs. JGAL was also 2-4 on the day. Burt hit the ball hard to also go 1-4.

KK threw 5 innings striking out 9, giving up 3 hits and walking 4. Skiddy threw a nice 6th striking out the side and giving up a hit. Then the stage was set for the man they call "Big Wide Cabin". He came in and threw a perfect 7th- not allowing a foul ball. It was overheard that the Dodgers scout on hand had him clocked at 91 mph.

The Spartans arrived home around 9:15 p.m. after a couple of stops on the way home. The Spartans enjoyed a nice dinner at the local DQ. But as the bus started rubbling home, so did the belly of one Spartan. It seems as though 4 cheeseburgers and a chicken sandwich, fries, and a blizzard are too much for the "Widge-meister" as an emergency pit stop along I-64 had him visiting the squirrels in the woods with his leftover DQ sack. Maaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnn!!!

Spartans travel to West Frankfort for a Varsity/JV game at 4:30 tomorrow.

Record: 9-9
        5-2
