The Spartans faced their first good left-hander of the early season and their offense showed getting only a John Galloway single en route to a 12-0 loss to the Redbirds of West Frankfort.
WSV pitcher Tim Skidmore took the loss getting relief from Josh Smith and Josh George.
The Spartans need to put theses 4 tough games behind them in hopes that this will let them build and get better as they travel to conference foe NCOE on Wednesday for their first conference game of the year. First pitch is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
